[HELP] developing for the HTC vive on a Mac

I am trying to work on a VR project but I have a mac and I am really struggling to set everything up. The application is using the asset store steamVR plugin which I think may be causing a problem. Also, I do not own an HTC Vive I want to set this with a simulator so that I can work on this at home without having to buy my own VR rig. I was wondering if this is even possible with a mac and even if it is possible is it feasible?
