Why does my scene camera zoom in during model rig configuration?
This is a really, really, REALLY minor issue but it has me laughing and pulling my hair out at the same time like a madman.
I've imported a .blend humanoid model (the simple person from Blender's Noob to Pro wikibook) with correct and proper bone armature that is already synced up with Mecanim. However, when I go to configure the rig, and all while I was configuring the rig properly, Unity finds all the bones just fine, but for some reason as soon as I click "Configure" under the "Rig" tab of the model's Import Settings, my scene camera which was initially focused on the model in question zooms in so far that the camera is actually underneath my model! So I can't actually visually see the bone structure even though I know it's working properly. What's up with this? I can't control the camera at all when I'm rigging my model. It's as if the scene view doesn't respond, it insists on this impossible, useless view.
I took the liberty of posting a video of this in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKYuoghIGXE
Anyone else had this issue or knows what's causing it?
Very strange. What's the scale of your model?
BTW, it's not that it's zoo$$anonymous$$g in on the scene - it's actually opening a new, temporary scene to do the rigging.
You should be able to select the model in the hierarchy and hit F to focus the camera - does that get you out to a proper zoom level?
I'm a total modelling n00b so I'm not real sure what the scale is. In Blender the model is about 12.5 Blender units tall; I did not scale the model in any way upon importing it into my Unity Scene.
Hitting "F" after selecting either the model or any of the armatures connected to it does nothing at all once I've entered that temporary rigging scene.
EDIT: Looked at the model in Unity and under the Transform properties in the Inspector tab the Scale reads 1:1:1 XYZ
