Changing texture of one child gameobject
I'm trying to figure out how I would be able to change the texture of a specific child without making a different texture for each one. I can't make a texture for each because there's over 500 children and I need only a few to change texture.
I don't get it... do you want to change one object and have all the others automatically change the same way?
What I want is to change just one and have the rest stay the same. Problem is, when I try using gameobject.renderer.material = highlightGrid It changes in the inspector, but not in the rendering.
That should work just fine... If you want to change the texture maybe do renderer.material.texture = newTexture;
Found the problem. I was using the CombineChildren script on the parent. Once I removed that, everything worked.
