How to create platform-specific LODs? (for a multi-platform VR app)
I'm working on a VR app that will be deployed both on PC (HTC Vive and Oculus Rift) and mobile (Samsung Gear VR).
I was wondering if there's a way to swap LOD levels depending on the user's platform. For example, I want all the meshes to start with LOD 0 for PC and LOD 1 for mobile. When built on mobile, I don't want the meshes to ever use LOD 0.
I can't seem to find a way to do this though. Looking at the LOD Group component, LOD switching is only dependent on the camera, not the platform.
nope, unfortunately that's more complicated than that. the only solution II came up with dealing with platform problems between PC, UWP, and Android was to keep differences in different scenes.
