attaching prefabs together at runtime
well, my thread didnt receive any attention in the 2D forums so i came to ask about help with this.
right now my prototype is a spaceship editor that allows me to put a set of hull parts composed of prefabs that have their own sprite (they share the same image size and all).
now, the current system works by making instances of these prefabs. i can manipulate them for stuff like drag and drop, scaling, rotation, and even flipping parts.
but there's something i havent been able to figure out, and its how attach or connect the parts beatween each other at their borders.
in terms of the prefabs, they have rigidbody 2D with polygon colliders adjusted.
the idea is that i could attach them for making a hull that will later be merged into a single prefab with its correspondent sprite and collision mesh.
that mesh will later be used to make a grid system for an internal editor which i havent started yet.
i have been looking on the internet on how to implement that, but right now there's no tutorial or document i could analyze to understand how to do it.
so i came here to the forums to ask about guide or advice in how could i start with it or if there's material avaliable here that could help me to implement it.
thanks for watching.
