create game and watch style frame by frame animation
Hi all,
I'm creating a game and watch (ie donkey kong) style of game for iPad. I built it all in xcode but I've decided to port it for Unity for more output options.
In xcode I set up a whole lot of UIImageViews - 1 for each frame of the character animation - put them all in arrays, and would simply show and hide the images as the player moved around. I am wondering what the best way to do this in Unity would be? Should I use GUI Texture objects or planes with textures attached? Or something else?
Thanks in advance
I have edited the question to remove the second question about retina displays. I'd rather not use a 3rd party toolkit because I like to know exactly how it all works if things go wrong.
I think the remaining question is pretty - maybe even very - specific.
Thanks
