Are LODGroup and LOD not fully supported in 3.5.x?
According to the documentation, the LODGroup class has 3 functions - ForceLODS, RecalculateBounds, and SetLODS, but I can't access any of these in my code. I only have access to the 4 variables. Also, I can't use the LOD structure at all. I'm using Unity 3.5.7. Are these only available in the latest 4.x versions?
Follow-up: If I can't use these functions/structs in my code, is there another way for me to add a renderer to an LODGroup level at runtime? I've managed to do this in Editor code in the past using SerializedObjects and SerializedProperties, but these are only available to UnityEditor.
Are you using the free version? LOD is only available to PRO, if memory serves...
Sorry, I should have mentioned: I am using the PRO version of 3.5.7, not Free. Thanks.
Pretty sure the LodGroup API arrived in 4.0, so would not be in 3.5.x. Either use the docs you have on your machine in the Unity version you use, or see:
http://docs.unity3d.com/356/Documentation/ScriptReference/20_class_hierarchy.html
(Note the 356==3.5.6 in the URL)
Actually 3.5.6 at least has a LODGroup API, but not the functions that later versions have. See:
http://docs.unity3d.com/356/Documentation/ScriptReference/LODGroup.html
Ah! I didn't know I could view documentation for specific older versions. That clears things up, and confirms pretty much what I thought. Thank you.
