Can I mix animations from >1 source on the same character model?

For example, I have modelled my own character (in Maya), and I have several animations to export. In Unity (4.5), and using Mecanim, can I add animations downloaded from the Asset Store and use these also, on this same character? Thank you in advance.

What would be the workflow? Use of the @ na$$anonymous$$g process for importing animations?

Absolutely. So long as the rig is compatible, Mecanim allows you to automatically retarget humanoid animations onto any character.

But retarget extra animations onto a character which already has animations from a different source? What would be the workflow? Use of the @ na$$anonymous$$g process for import? Thank you.
