Character animation, the mesh is deformed and animation will not work

I have exported an FBX (2010) file from my 3Ds max. I Put it in my Unity Assets folder, but my problem is. The character is really deformed on the scene, funny though is that it is perfectly fine in the preview on my material when i select it. Really need help please, new to Unity. Thanks

I have now isolated the problem, it is when i am exporting my model from 3ds $$anonymous$$ax. The thing is if i bake the model the bones do the animation just perfectly. And if i do not do the baking the model looks fine, but the animation is shit. Do you have any idea? I use I$$anonymous$$ solvers, if that would be a reason to why it messes up.
