Getting a VideoClip using UnityWebRequest on mobile.
Given that you still can't load a Video through an AssetBundle on mobile (source: https://forum.unity.com/threads/load-videoclip-in-assetbundle-on-android.466850/ ) I'm trying to find a work-around by downloading the clip directly. Given the nature of my server structure I can't use the 'url' field of the Video Player or the WWW class.
I am trying to use the UnityWebRequest functionality (which is how I'm getting my AssetBundles in the first place) but the only handler for that is for the depreciated MovieTexture. I have seen work arounds on how to save the file to disk and then load it from there, but I'm pretty sure that option is not valid on a mobile device.
Any ideas? This seems like a huge developmental oversight!
(Note: I put 'video streaming' as a Topic - but I don't care so much about actually streaming the video. Being able to load the entire video and play it back will be just fine - the videos are small)
