Steam Workshop content download inside Game?
Hello.
I am still in planning fase of my game so I need to know some things or else it wont work as I want.
I want to bring it to Steam, it will be an online / local game up to 8 players... or 4 players that is not set in stone yet... and I want that other people are able to create content for my game like new levels, characters, hats or something else.... (they would need to use Unity to create assetbundles for easy implementation in my game)
first.
Is it possible to automaticly download content from Steams Workshop if the Host player has choosen a map that the other players dont have? so that the other players dont have to download the content from the host.
second.
is there a way to send to the host the information when the map is finished downloading or if some other stuff is still downloading the status of the downloads. like if the player needs to download 5 things from the Workshop and 2 are already finished that this information is sent back to the host?
