Unity Terrain just for Grass/Detail Mesh
Hi people,
I haven't found anything here or elsewhere so I here is the question:
For my game I'm Set dressign a quite big Mesh (2.5D Sidescroller) about 4 min to run through. I have a lot of grass/wheat textures to place.
I was thinking about either setting them by hand(would take very long because a lot of space needs to be covered with wheat ) or generate a Unity Terrain out of my own Mesh Terrain and just use the detail Mesh feature without drawing the actual terrain itself.
My question is how well is the performance of the unity detail mesh system, is the terrain taxing if its not drawn? Or what would be general best practice.
