They're killing The Beast?
I'm using Unity 5b. Is the Beast on death row? Enlighten is the new Beast? Did we lose the ability to globally select how many bounces light has? I know there's the Direct, Indirect and AO exponent. Are these just the scalars for the coefficients in the equation:
direct + indirect * AO^AOexponent?
So does the equation become:
result = [Direct Light](Direct Scalar) + [Indirect Light](Indirect Scalar) * [Ambient Occlusion]^AOexponent or more concisely:
result = d DL + i IL * AO^e
where: DL = Direct Light d = Direct Light Scalar IL = Indirect Light i = Indirect Light Scalar AO = Ambient Occlusion e = AO expoenent
Are these variables the only way we can effect bounced light? Even with Indirect at max, the bounced light seems not enough and "contrived" (not physically correct). Is this a trade-off with performance using Enlightens fast algorithms?
