Directional Light keeps shining at far clipping plane

Greetings all.

I have a simple setup to rotate my directional light to keep in synch with a game clock. Problem is at "nights" light shines through the floor and at the opposite end of the plane. I solved the first issue using a thick cube beneath the floor but the lights around the edges still shine at nights.

Is there a way to avoid this direct light issue?
