Can a Stereoscopic video be played on an object ? not 360 or 180 via skybox

Hi all, Id like to play normal HD video in my scene, but in stereo (3D). I have the content in over under

It seems Stereoscopic can only be played on the skybox. Id like to have the 3d effect on a pane or cube in my scene.
