Sending information from android game to android app via Bluetooth/Wifi-Direct

I am creating a VR game on android and wanted to send high scores via Bluetooth to a separate android device as people play the game. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction on where to start or if there are any plugins that can help me with this?
