The question is answered, right answer was accepted
Built Unity game wont launch.
So lately, i have starting to have problem with Built game. When i build my game, it builds without any errors / problems, but when i try to launch it, nothing is happening and i can only see "Loading" spinning in my cursor. I cannot even delete the file, because the PC tells the file is open in System, and only lets me delete it after i restart my PC. I cannot even see anything relatively close pointing to the game in my Task Manager, thus cant shut it down from there.
Also, theres is no critical errors to be seen in Console in any scene of the game. Im using Unity 5.2.2f1 Personal, and Windows 10 64Bit.
Ive tried to mess around in Player settings, delete uselles files / prefabs, pretty much tried everything i can. The game runs perfectly fine in Editor, and builds it perfectly well. Yet it wont start. Not even with Administator rights.
I have no idea when this started to happen, but when it did, i havent been able to make any working build after.
Wow, that's a bummer. I have no knowledge on Windows 10 at all.
Have you looked at the troubleshooting page, that lists some common probems with Unity 5.x on Windows 10? $$anonymous$$aybe there is some info that can help you there.
Has the Windows 10 Task $$anonymous$$anager still a button for "View processes of all users"? $$anonymous$$aybe there is a UnityShaderCompiler.exe or any other possibly hidden Unity process that still holds your game.exe from being used properly?
Can you see the Configuration Dialog when running the build?
Or is the OS simply "loading" endlessly?
Have you tried using a lower Unity version? Like 5.1 for example.
I tried to update Unity because i thought the problem would be solved with updating, but no luck. And no, i cannot see the config dialog either.
I noticed, that if i "open" the game in File Explorer, after about 5 or 10 $$anonymous$$s the File Explorer window where the exe is located freezes and cannot be closed either. :/ Also it seems that i can delete the Data folder of game, and that would point out that its not using it at all.
I have met the same issue too. The built game doesn't start and just the mouse cursor spinning in circle. I use Window 7 and Unity 5.1 . This is so frustrating. Looking forward to any solution

Posting a comment as an answer makes finding an actual answer a little bit difficult ;)
Have a nice day.
Have you tried to upgrade to the newest version? I have WIn 7 x64 and used every Unity update since Unity made Update to version 5 and I never had those problems.
You don't even get the display resolution dialogue box? If not, that's the Unity engine crashing - nothing to do with any of your game data. What about a fresh, blank project? Can you publish and load that?

So i fixed the problem. Now the Built game started immediatly.
I Unticked "Display Resolution Dialog".
And after, built the game two times to make sure it was the problem. And it was.
Should have seen my comment of 5hrs ago... :) Still, glad you figured it out.
Well, that's strange. Good you found the problem. Now you could search for a solution to the the main problem, that your project will not launch with the config dialog used.
There seems to be something wrong behind the scenes of Windows 10. Also, you can close the question now. ;)
It aint problem though, i have in-game settings which save stuff. Still very odd, never happened with first versions of Unity 5.
strange... I am using a mac, but I had a very similar problem, and doing this also fixed it.
Where is "Display Resolution Dialog"? I am having the same issue with my game not staying open after it is built.

I haven't switched to win10 since it seems to have quite a few issues (not just with Unity). However as far as i can tell the taskmanager looks the same as in win8.1. Just forget about the "Processes" tab. It's quite useless and messy. It only shows applications which have an active window open. Check the "Details" tab. There you will find all actual processes listed by the exe file name.
The Unity player creates a logfile (output_log.txt) inside the "XXX_Data" folder of your build, so check the log if it has any useful information.
Without more information we can't tell you more about your issue since we can't reproduce the problem.
Sadly there aint no log files either. And i do know how to use the new Task $$anonymous$$anager, and in details as said, i cannot see anything that points to the game even been running.
