Sending info from unity C# to Matlab?

Hello there, I'm trying to run a simulation in unity and I need to output the data from Unity TO Matlab (real time). Most of the questions/answers I've looked up concern sending data to unity from Matlab or another program and not the other way around.

Matlab would be installed and running on the same computer at the same time. It isn't complex data, just something simple from a C# script to Matlab, like when a box collider gets triggered I just need to send a boolean value to matlab indicating such.

I can do the scripting well enough on my own but if anyone has links or advice on how such an interface would work I'd be grateful. I know plugins can and have been developed to sync external applications with unity, even if it's just running with the inspector open and not as a full built game, the "how" is my problem.

@diversionarydan: Hi, Have you figured out how to do this? I would like to do a similar thing with $$anonymous$$atlab; i.e. get Unity3D to stream data live into $$anonymous$$atlab and gets back whatever $$anonymous$$atlab produces, etc... I have found a simple $$anonymous$$atlab script online that apparently does this easily with a remote website, but I don't think that is enough (not to mention that I am confused about ports and UDP protocols!) so I wondered if you have found a solution...
