load next scene during current scene
hello is it possible to load the next scene during the current scene so that when i do go to load the level once i am finished it will be a near instant transition. i have looked at all the various loadlevel types in Application and tried to get it working but i find the moment i run it the next scene will load up. So yeah how can i load up the next scene but only run it when i want to? if what im asking can be done could someone please give me an example as i have been struggling with this for a while now, thank you in advance :)
Are you using Unity Pro? I know you can use LoadLevelAsync for this kind of thing, but that still sends you to the next scene as soon as it is finished... Why do you need to load the next scene ahead of time like that? Is it vital for you to have instantaneous level loading? Why can't you just use LoadLevel the normal way, where you call it at the moment when you want to run the next scene?
yes i do have pro and i need to load the next scene up ahead of time because the loading times are a little unacceptable. we have optimized everything as far as we possibly can however we need to be able to do this. im guessing no such unity function exists then? and its for iOS platform
So there's really no solution for this ? If you load a scene async, it will start immediately when done?
unfortunately i never found a solution for this so im guessing yes. we will have to deal with it till they update unity, which to give them credit is a fairly regular thing.
@eradiuslore I would now love to ask exactly the same question, but of course, now we're to use the Scene$$anonymous$$anager schema ... Were you ever able to get this to work? Any help is greatly appreciated!
