is this game so bad in performance??
hello everybody. i made a racing 2d game but it makes my phone heat when i run that. I searched and I think it should be a heavy gpu and cpu problem. I used development mode to run my game on my galaxy A3 Phone and profile that. please see result and say if it's so bad or not? and where is the problem?
Looks reasonably to me. It's spending most of it's time waiting for the v-sync. Do other games heat up your phone as much? Have you tried running it on the phone as a release build and see if that affects it? Have you tried running it on another phone to see if it's specific to your hardware?
Generally, running any graphical game can cause a phone to heat up, simply because it's doing way more work than it normally does.
I'm confused because i published this game in a market and it had about 25,000 download in 3 days. some people sent me emails and said it's a bit heavy!!! when i decrease fixed time step to 0.03 it would be better but i should use 0.01 to run game smoothy!
How many devices did you test on before releasing? You need to make sure your game is only released for devices that can handle it. Could be that the complaining users are all using 4 year old hardware, and it simply can't handle your game.
hmm just a few devices!! I really didn't think so many people would download that. i thought i've time to correct all problems! how can i know which devices can handle my game??
By running your game on those devices and noting any performance problems. I think the Android emulator may help there too.
But yeah, releasing without adequate testing is like walking into a medieval town riding a broom and wearing green face paint: you're just asking to be flogged.
