Can I include the word "Unity" or mention of Unity in my app name or description?
Hi all, as the title suggests, I want to know if I can mention Unity when I go to upload my apps in repositories. Specifically, I have been following the tutorial projects and have modified them quite a bit, and would like to distribute them with names such as "Unity Space Shooter Demo." I want customers to know that it is based on a tutorial so they could check out Unity if they wanted to. Thanks for any help!
I mean, is there any legal issue with me publishing an app anywhere, on any platform, that mentions Unity in the name? I won't try to make it look like it is in any way endorsed by Unity, or an official Unity app, I just want people to know up front it's derived from the Unity tutorials. I have noticed lots of copyright infringement in Google Play, and didn't want to infringe any of Unity's rights by associating their name with my product if it is expressly forbidden somewhere. Phew, I hate legal stuff...
@SiphonZero: There might be legal issues. Titles like "Unity Space Shooter Demo" suggests that it's a demo from Unity. If that demo is a great demo, Unity probably don't have a problem with it, however if it's a poorly made thing it might damage Unity's reputation if the user thinks it's an official demo.
I think a name like "Space Shooter Demo made with Unity" would be better in this case ^^.
$$anonymous$$eep in $$anonymous$$d that we are not Unity, we are just Unity users like you. If you want a clear answer, contact the support here:

ps: the "Type of inquiry" should probably be "Sales"
Thank you for the help guys, I don't really know why this question was bothering me, but you helped clear it up.
