Defocus input line?

I've got a working chat, but there's some changes I'd like to add, when someone has typed in a message, I'd like it to de-focus the window, so they can move again after having pressed enter, Is there a way to do this? Doing javascript, normal rect window.

I realize that the entire focusing, defocusing is terrible from other posts, but what about just de-focusing
