Preferred Method of Ambient Occlusion
I've been pulling the hairs off my imaginary beard for the past few hours trying to find the optimal way to add ambient occlusion into a scene. I've baked AO in Cinema 4D, which sometimes come out with slight artifacts that are amplified in Unity. I also tried adding SSAO script in Unity, but that looked ugly around small edges like door frames. Finally I tried baking AO in Unity's lightmapping feature, which so far looks the best.
For those of you who have added AO into your games/scenes in Unity, what worked best for you? I'm both curious and willing to try different methods if there are any other methods mentioned.
