I have used Sketchup, Maya and Cheetah
Others use 3DSMax and Blender
So you can use these and for animatiion and for modeling ?
Dont think Sketchup does Animation. Also it kinda makes a proper hash of $$anonymous$$eshes.
Use Blender if you want it free.
Actually you can do simple animation with sketch up pro. And Ive found it fine for basic architectural stuff. but to each their own.
Aye, ok, lemme say then Sketchup Free is a bit of a hash :D
I know some people who 'swear by it' but when I import or view their models, I'm having to spend ages reconstructing them.
They make fast, simple models but Sketchup fills in the actual mesh and for anything slightly unusual it looks like a mashed up spiderweb.
I don't know...maybe they are using it, all wrong.
