How to connect unity 3D to its iPhone app for simulation?

Hi, I'm new to Unity as well as programming. The unity iphone app is not optimised for iPhone 5. It has a smaller screen size. How do I change that to suit iPhone 5. Secondly, do I need to download Xcode for the app to connect because I cannot seem to connect yet.
