Unity 4.2 multiple materials on same object draw order

Hello,

Since the release of unity 4.2 the drawing order of multiple materials on the same object is a total mess and seemingly random. Has anyone found a solution for this issue?

Basically when you add multiple materials to an object, previously the draw order was the ascending index of the materials, now its just ... random, and its messing up all of my objects.

Please help!
