loading wheel on splash on android
HI, I wanted to do some loading progress animation on splash screen as my app does take longer to load on some android devices. What I did is starting level with some instruction gui texture and script that starts loading main scene (next level) additively and asynchronously. The problem is that progress wheel which I show on GUI by rotating GUI around pivot is not smooth. I'm calling update of rotation on FixedUpdate. Tried also onGUI or Update but sill a lot choppy and rotating not smoothly. Its loading the next level making it crap. Is there a way to make it higher priority or something? How to use Application.LoadLevelAdditiveAsync on android if even almost empty scene is updating GUI like at 1 FPS when additive scene is loading up? As documentation says this is suppose to be invisible background operation. thanks for any suggestions.
Do you have Unity Pro? If not then you cant use Application.LoadLevelAdditiveAsync
Hi, yes i do and async loading is working very well, but its hurting performance a lot. Just simple gui wheel is not rotating during loading. If i put sleep for 2 sec in coroutine which loads new level then wheel is rotating nicely for 2 sec and then starts freezing when loading starts.
