How can I run Asset server on Windows 8?
Ever since installing windows 8 I've had trouble with Asset Server. I'm trying to run a server on localhost but it won't connect. The reason being that the asset server simply won't start! When I try to start the service manually in either the asset server .exe or windows services the server just doesnt start and gives me a time out error. I did have it running on and off a week ago but since then I've switched PC's and now it doesnt work at all. I have tried re-installing the asset server but this did nothing. (I kept my old database.) Has anyone any ideas on this?

current version not work on windows 8
Actually, now I have the asset server running perfectly on Windows 8. To be honest, I can't remember how I got it working (I should have posted here) but I think I might not have been running it as an ad$$anonymous$$istrator. Also, in services you could make sure that the Asset Server account is logged in as ".\unitysrv"
