Creating custom mipmaps on Mac

Does anyone know of a way to create custom mip-map levels on a mac either in Unity3d or using some tool? I need to be able to create custom resolution textures for each mipmap level, that may/may not bear any resemblence to other mipmap levels.

A quick Google search resulted in this, though I haven't tried it.

Thanks @Eric5h5 - although I can't see how that works- no mention of mipmaps. I eventually worked out a way of doing what I needed to do via SetPixels32 which allows you to write to the various mip levels manually.
