How build Windows standalone in 16:9 widescreen

Hi anyone knows how to build a game in widescreen? The default ratio is 4:3, how can I change it to 16:9?

Thank you

In the Unity editor, go to Edit > Project Settings > Player.
In the Inspector, click the little Finder/Windows icon under Per-Platform Settings, and expand Resolution and Presentation.
Inside, you can change the default screen width and height to a 16:9 ratio, and expand Supported Aspect Ratios to un-check 4:3, 5:4, 16:10, and Others.

Oh - also, it might be best to check "Default is Full Screen", because otherwise the window might not fit on the screen well.

Thank you. but in the Inspector, there is only Player Settings, I can't find the Per-Platform Settings. Are you using Unity Pro?

I am using regular Unity, version 3.1. The panel layout might not be the same in older versions of Unity, but the basic concepts on the panel should be the same.

Just changing the supported aspect ratio to 16:9 won't force a game to use widescreen if no widescreen resolutions are available. (The desktop resolution can always be selected no matter what.) If you want to force 16:9, use AspectRatioEnforcer.

Hi Eric, I've been using your AspectRatioEnforcer, and it works great so far. I only have one strange issue: The topmost horizontal bar doesn't turn black, but rather gets stuck with some sort of "screenshot" of my game. Do you know what could be causing this? Thanks!

@juanelo: It occurs to me that the background cam could show something depending on where the stuff in your scene is, so I made a change to the script which changes the culling mask to not render any objects.

Thanks, Eric! That completely solved the issue! You're the man!
