Want to share an animation in between 2 different models but how?
Hi. Before asking questions, since English isn't my first language so it might not make any sense and I apologize for it.
I have 2 different models slug and snail. However, their bone structures and bone names are different. For the names, slug's bones start with "Slug:" and snail's start with "Snail:". They both have 5 spine bones but since snail has its shell their rooting are different. So basically they are 2 diffrent rigs.
For now, I have a slug's move animation and I want to make my snail move with slug's move animation as well. Their scaling and bone lengths are all identical. It works in maya when my friend tried to run slug's move animation with snail but I couldn't make it work in unity. Is there a way not making another move animation for snail but re-using the one from slug in unity?
I am pretty new to unity or 3d animation and probably I miss a lot of useful information. Any response will help me by a lot. And if it doesn't make any sense or I misunderstood things then, please point it out for me. It would help me a lot.
And what if I have same bone names in different rooting? Does unity animation target bones correctly just by its name? Thanks for reading.

Unity rig system has little to do with armature naming. However, I may need to know which animation system you are using: Legacy (animation component) or Mechanim (animator component)?
