Unity - Accelerometer Recognition Gestures XML

Hello,

I currently have an accelerometer module hooked up to my Unity game, and I'm successfully feeding in the data X, Y and Z into the game.

What I want to do is to 'record' a gesture pattern within Unity. So for example - I press record, then tilt the accelerometer 90 degrees on its X axis for 4 seconds, and then place it back flat. Then stop recording.

Basically, I want Unity to take the values within that time, and place it into an XML sheet.

--- Long Term ---

What I'm trying to achieve is to 'teach' Unity certain hand/arm gestures. So I was thinking, if I record, for example an 'arm swing action' with the accelerometer a couple of times, say 3 times - Unity can then compare between these repeated 'arm swing actions', and then know what a arm swing 'looks' like, and then reference it for game play.

You still following me?

I would imagine the best way to do this is to record each action (plus a couple of repeats) as an XML sheet, then Unity can always compare the true accelerometer values with the saved gestures?

--- Short Term ---

Okay, so it's a pretty complicated system, so for now - I would just like to save the values within an XML sheet... Unless you think theirs a better way?

Is this even possible? At the end of the day, it's just maths - so it should be possible, right?

hey Oliver, I know this is an old question but I'm working on something similar in a way to what you are doing, did you manage to find an answer?
