Have you specified the frames of the animation(s) in the inspector once you import the model into unity? After that, all you have to do to simply play the animation via script is use:
animation.Play("Your Animation");
Or:
animation.Crossfade("Your Animation");
Depending on whether or not you want to smooth the animation transitions.
