Importing sketchup .dae into Unity (black areas)
I'm using Sketchup for my models in unity. I export them as .dae (collada) files. When i put them into my project, the models appear fine, but the the colors are completely messed up. For example, if i import a white colored model into unity, certain areas appear black, and wont let me change its color either. Usually, these black areas are duplicates of other portions of the model. Also the lighting of these objects are reversed. Really need help with this.
thank you that fixed the black spots, but i am still unable to change the colors of certain areas

Have you made sure that your normals are facing the correct way? If they are reversed that would explain black spots.
edit: I'm not sure what the color issue would be. Could be the lighting that you have set up in your unity scence, or textures may have a strange gamma setting for some reason. Not sure what else might cause an altered color.
