Unity - Imported Maya polygon torus is not colliding with object

I created polygon torus in Maya and exported as .FBX(with other format also) then imported it in unity with generate collider checked.

Then i add two of them in scene with rigid-body component, these two objects are not colliding with any objects. it collides only if convex is true in mesh-collider component.

how to import objects from Maya in unity and use mesh collider.

Are you trying to move these with the mesh collider on at all, this may not be your issue but it is bad practice to move complex mesh colliders without making them convex(can cause a variety of issues...).

I just made a basic torus in Blender, imported it into Unity, and ticked my generate collider box. It works with my FPS controller in my test scene.

Can you give your code for how you are moving these torus objects, and how you have these setup(rigidbody or not etc). Thanks

yes it is moving and i am trying to interlock these two object to act like a chain in my project with rigid-body attached.

Thanks

Are you trying to interlink these via the mesh collider collisions(their central holes)?

If so it is the wrong approach, you want to use "joints" to connect them ins$$anonymous$$d, unless you have some special reason why this will not suit your game. And with the joints try to set these up as convex mesh colliders for a performance improvement(using non convex mesh colliders for links in a chain which are moving will not sit well with the physics engine).

Normally I would recommend using primitive colliders, or several small child primitives handled by one parent rigidbody object(compound colliders), but with this shape and you having probably lots of these links the convex mesh approach may be better...

And is that same for polygon cube as well?

I've made what I mean for you as an example in Blender, here :

Hope this helps explain what I meant :)
