Editing a mesh in an FBX file
Hello,
I purchased an asset from the asset store with a humanoid mesh that I want to edit (I just want to make the legs a little shorter) via Blender.
One obvious question is, how do I open a mesh inside an fbx file using blender.
But more importantly, I've heard that it is not legal to edit fbx file. Now, to my understanding I am allowed to edit whatever asset I purchase on Unity Asset Store. My source for this information is a buddy of mine who doesnt use Unity, so I was hoping someone could address this question as well here.
Thanks!

Import it, don't 'Open' it.
It is perfectly legal to open your fbx in Blender. The functionality which would make it illegal is unsupported so you will find you can not import Rig or Animation.
You are most welcome
I should add that Blender Foundation would like to implement this fully but as Open Source software it gets expensive paying licensing fees to Autodesk :)
