Unity hangs while importing Blender generated PNGs
Sometimes Unity "hangs" (import taking what looks like forever) while importing PNGs created with Blender. Upon restarting Unity I then have to manually force re-importing the texture, which then happens without error.
Not a big problem except that, since importing can take a while, I sometimes end up waiting for imports that will never complete.
Any input on this much appreciated.

It sounds like a bug. You should submit it with your file.
It's intermittent anyway. Happens regularly so I'm not sure whether submitting a file would really help but thanks for the suggestion.
I worked on 3D asset import into Unity for 3 years, so believe me when I say if we don't have report - we can not fix it. We have our own regression system and we we had problem like yours we would notice it. It might be related to your Blender version or your file, so detailed report always helps.
I would totally go the extra mile to get you a half-consistent repro on this one if I realised the suggestion came from your $$anonymous$$m. Please forgive me for not submitting an intermittent bug that would take hours to repro. Currently I don't export many PNGs anymore (baking from cycles is less important, although a lot faster than Unity internal GI bakes the workflow isn't smooth anyway) but if I run into this again, I will update.
