Importing Multi Object Project from Max 2012
I've imported my project as an fbx from max following this tutorial:
http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/23513/3ds-max-unity-the-best-way-to-import-a-multisub-ob.html
The project is a replica of my living room which has four object clusters all attached as editable polys. The problem I am running into is that when I apply my baked texture to the shelf cluster, it wraps the shelf perfectly, but then also tries to apply separately to the table and chairs, the apartment structure itself, and the desk I have made. The same happens when I apply the table baked textures to the table. It looks perfect, but then I have skewed textures trying to wrap around all the other objects.
My question is: How do I get these things to separate so that when I apply the baked texture to my shelves it only applies to the shelves?

You should Create a saperate material to each object / element (chair, table etc). Then Poly select or element select the desired element and assign the corresponding material to it.
