HELP! Unity deleted my scene! :(
When i stopped the game, everything in my scene was suddenly deleted. I did not save it, restarted unity, but the scene is gone.... someone help! :( this is incredibly frustrating, days of work just gone....arrghh i really really hope theres a way to get it back
do you mean windows backup? I tried, but turns out I didnt have it set up :(
This has happened to our project the other day. Incredibly frustrating. Assets just disappear from the scene. We have to use an old backup.
You can write an automatic project backup script, which will help in future.
That sounds like a great idea - so like an editor script? Have you got any examples on how to approach this?

I've never had Unity 'delete' a scene of mine. A scene getting corrupt, perhaps, but deleted.. hmmm no. Have you looked in your scenes folder if its there? Do a search for *.unity on your computer, maybe its somewhere.
You should anyway be checking your work into an offsite source control respository at least daily.
No backups, sorry but you cannot blame anyone but yourself.
Yeah 'corrupted' probably explains it better, the .unity file was still there, but completely blank. And yes, I really regret not making any backups, I was feeling confident about unity not screwing up on me, but I guess I should know better, about technology in general. Ive got three backups now, but i'm still pretty sure I can blame Unity ;)
