Random landscape
How do i make unity 3D generate random landscapes? I have not tried anything yet but I have searched...I have found nothing INSIDE unity and I need one inside unity because I hate downloading installers and around 5 additional files. I am going to try to make a game like minecraft with randomly generated territories but with their limits. This would be my biggest difficulty in the game because it is very simple.
If anyone could help me on this, that would be great...THX
'it is very simple'
A common line from people attempting to make $$anonymous$$ecraft clones. Please, do some research before attempting to do things you can't do.
I have searched
No you haven't. http://www.lmgtfy.com/?q=$$anonymous$$ecraft+unity
Please ask this type of question in the normal FORU$$anonymous$$ as "Answers" is meant to be a place for specific problems and answers.
[$$anonymous$$eta] Can we please make questions asking about how to make a $$anonymous$$ecraft clone not allowed?
It's annoying when people think that they can "easily" recreate a game that has lots of work hours and money put into it. Yes, it is easier with Unity because you have a engine already, but the $$anonymous$$inecraft 'engine' was purpose built for $$anonymous$$inecraft. Unity was not designed to handle such a complex world (yes; $$anonymous$$inecraft's code and world are complex; those that disagree have not done their research)
@rabbitfang: yes, but you're not meant to use individual game objects for everything; the $$anonymous$$esh class (and the Graphics functions if you have Pro) exist for a reason. Using them isn't a workaround, it's part of the process. Also there's not a limit on the number of gameobjects resulting in instability; there's a hard limit, period. ;) (Namely, ~65$$anonymous$$.) It either works or it doesn't.
