How to make your character lose limbs, either through physics or pre determined animation sequences?
Hi there..
so first of all, you have probably come to this question/answer thinking "Wtf?". lol. Let me explain.
Im currently developing a Viking RPG life sim with an RTS Hybrid attached. basically, you will be able to do everything that your ordinary RPG would do, however with an RTS element that can potentially make your character die. Ie in Battle.
I have rigged together a character in 3dsmax, which is still having animation sequences built upon it. However, i have also sliced my character up into several different segments, which will allow my character to lose limbs etc.
so my question is this. given my character is rigged together, how would i go about triggering a situation where my character will not only lose a limb, but the limb will drop/fly off my character based upon the combat in said battle. Would there be a script of somesort that will decline said Limb Model from being attached to the rig any longer, and to use Physics to create a ragdoll affect in unity, or would it have to be an animation sequence in something like 3dsmax using bones to animate this?
