Converting discrete intensity distribution to a continuous figure.,Discrete intensity to continuous figure.
I am creating a physics simulation about lasers, which can interact with the world. My idea is to convert a ray into the discrete distribution of points with their intensities. My question is how to convert that discrete distribution back to a continuous figure when a screen is placed in front of the ray?,I am making a physics simulation about lasers, which can be reflected diffracted and interfered in most ways. My mind is set on representing a single ray as a set of discrete points with their respective intensity, phase, direction... My problem is that if I place a screen a digram should be produced on the screen. How can I convert the discrete distribution to a continuous diagram?
