Foot IK not working

So I remodeled my character to solve a few issues with shadows and the buginess was unreal when I tried to replace the meshes using the old prefab. So i remade it exactly the same way but with the new model, set it up all over again and now the Foot IK isn't working.

I can't find the problem but every time I switch on Foot IK, the characters legs twist into the air. The configuration does not allow this as the limits are properly set up and the character works fine without Foot IK on. Only problem is, when the character is stationary, the feet are hovering in the ground and not actually standing on it.

What could cause it do do this? I have a capsule collider on my character and a few basic scripts that work with the old version.

I have included a picture of before hitting play and after when Foot IK is enabled.
