Unity editor low frame rates and flashing while pressing keys

Hey all, I've been having some problems with the Unity Editor on a new build lately. Whenever I try to play a scene in editor, parts of the editor flash and massive frame drops happen whenever I press a key on my keyboard. I've taken a video of it in a new, empty to project to make sure that it wasn't something that I've done, but it still happens. https://gfycat.com/BrokenEsteemedGossamerwingedbutterfly That's just me pressing some keys in an empty scene.

This hasn't happened to me on any other PC I've used, and I don't have any other problems in other 3D applications on this machine, so I'm not sure what's going on here.

This is happening on Unity 5.2.1f1.
