When launching VR application from external program, VR fails to initialise.,When Launching a Steam VR build from a external application VR is not enabled.
I have a WPF application that is used to launch a Unity project and download any updates. When the launch button is pressed it uses:
var startInfo = new ProcessStartInfo
{
FileName = System.IO.Path.GetFileName(m_liveContainer.CurrentExePath),
WorkingDirectory = System.IO.Path.GetDirectoryName(m_liveContainer.CurrentExePath)
};
Process p = Process.Start(startInfo );
This works to launch the App however if you do not have local admin then a failed to initialise error occurs:
An Excerpt:
XR: OpenVR Error! OpenVR failed initialization with error code VRInitError_Init_PathRegistryNotFound: "Installation path could not be located (110)"!
The strange thing is that this only appears when being launched by someone who does not have local admin but has had admin details entered for them.
Does anyone have any idea how to resolve the failure to initialise? or how I could make it do it without the need for verification.
