I have completed parts 1-4 so far until this crash bug occurred.
Also, I have completed this tutorial before in the same 2018.3.14 version with no problems and I am doing it again in the 2018.3.14 version but came across this crash bug that I've never experienced before.
Essentially, in both the Unity editor and the actual build of the game, all functions (movement/shooting/reloading for the player and moving/attacking/etc for the enemy zombie) work fine until the player shoots and the raycast hits an object with the enemy tag (the zombie), then Unity just crashes unexpectedly. A peer and myself have both tried to debug this but have not found a solution yet. Please let me know if anyone knows what's going on.
