Copyright and Unity Asset Store

This might be a dumb or already answered question.
I read the Asset Store EULA and i wanted to ask about copyright in relation to my game after using un-restricted assets off of the Asset Store.
I see that in the C# files of a particular free asset i am using, the author has copyrighted the source code.
How does their copyright of the particular source code affect the copyright/ownership of the game product i am making with it? Do i retain full ownership over the game, but not over the source code the Asset author wrote? Can I publish the game i make with this asset as fully mine? Do i need to credit the original author of the asset and acknowledge their copyright notice?
Rather confused. Please advise. Preferably someone of authority from Unity but any answers are helpful.
