Profiling Moving Static Colliders
Hello, I want to use the profiler to check if there are any objects moving with a collider that do not have a rigidbody. I do not see any warnings from my profiler in the editor. But I have gone out of my way and made an object move when it has a Collider and no rigid body and I still do not see any warnings. How can you profile to check to see if there are static colliders moving?
Furthermore I have a question about my setup for my object. I have a root object, that has a child. This child has a collider and a kinematic rigidbody, but my movement script is on the parent object which moves the root. Is this a correct way to set something up or will it cause some performance problem?
Unless you have scripts actin upon them, a gameobject without a rigidbody will not move. I am not sure what you are trying to do.
Children of a rigidbody with colliders will simply be made part of the parent rigidbody. This is perfectly valid. However, rigidbodies with rigidbodies inside is not recommended, and will lead to very weird and unwanted behaviour.
