Unity program keeps freezing
Hello. I am trying to take an online course in game development and am using the free version of Unity version 5.3.3. My computer meets all the system requirements listed. I am using OS X version 10.9.5 with a i5 processor and have 4GB of memory.
The Unity Program opens up no problem and I can open a new project and place a game object into the display, however, once I try and do anything with the object the program freezes and I just get a spinning beach ball and am relegated to force quitting the program.
Despite the fact that I am taking a game development course I am very inexperienced with how I might go about solving this problem myself and would appreciate any helpful advice

Just did this and it seems to be working fine now. Thanks
Answer by K0ndor · Mar 20, 2015 at 11:35 PM I just stumbled upon this issue: fortunately, it succeded building after 3 minutes or so. But this is VERY long for almost empty project. So far only solution is to wait for builds to take their time and wait for new Unity update.
EDIT: I think I found THE ANSWER! Window > Lighting, just left from "Build" button there is "Continuous Baking" checkobx. Uncheck and voila! - no more "freezing".
This has seemed to be a very temporary fix, as the program is continuing to freeze.
