Unity 2021/2022 can't find Visual Studio Installations?
I've been attempting to upgrade unity to 2021 or 2022 but each time I do, I find that I'm constantly receiving this error:
Error detecting Visual Studio installations: System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (0x80004005): ApplicationName='C:\Users\Anthony's PC\Bocce\Library\PackageCache\com.unity.ide.visualstudio@2.0.14\Editor\VSWhere\vswhere.exe', CommandLine='-prerelease -format json -utf8', CurrentDirectory='', Native error= The system cannot find the file specified.
This prevents me from defining custom symbols for my android build and prevents errors in the console from bringing me directly to the line with the issue when double clicking them. It also causes some slow down when compiling and searching through my solution and a few other minor headaches.
I can select visual studio in my external tools settings and click regenerate project files, but every time I do, I continue to receive the error. I've tried reinstalling Unity and Visual Studio(multiple versions), but nothing seems to work. Has anyone else encountered this and found a solution?
